Overview

As a PLC Technician and Installer at Borrell USA Corp, you will play a crucial role in the installation, programming, and maintenance of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) in our advanced electro-mechanical systems. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in industrial automation, PLC programming, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Install and program Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to control and monitor electro-mechanical systems and machinery.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to understand system requirements and develop appropriate PLC programs.

  • Wire and connect PLC components, sensors, actuators, and other control devices.

  • Perform diagnostic tests and troubleshoot PLC systems to identify and resolve technical issues.

  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and ladder logic diagrams.

  • Integrate PLC systems with human-machine interfaces (HMIs) and other control interfaces.

  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company standards during installations.

  • Document PLC installations, configurations, and programming changes.

  • Travel across the Central Valley region to various job sites as required for installations and maintenance.

  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in PLC & IoT technology.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field is preferred but not required; relevant certifications in PLC programming are advantageous.

  • Proven experience in PLC installation, programming, and troubleshooting.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and ladder logic diagrams.

  • Familiarity with PLC programming languages such as ladder logic, structured text, or function block diagrams.

  • Strong understanding of industrial automation principles and control systems.

  • Effective problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety.

  • Physical ability to work in various environments and handle electrical equipment.

  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel across the Central Valley as needed.

  • English and Spanish language is preferred but not required
