44th Annual Almond Alliance Convention
From April 27 to 30, 2026, Borrell USA participated as a Brand Sponsor and exhibitor in the 44th Annual Almond Alliance Convention, organized by the Almond Alliance and held at the Paséa Hotel & Spa in Huntington Beach, California.
The event brought together growers, huller-shellers, processors, industry partners, and key stakeholders from across the almond sector, creating an excellent forum for discussion, networking, and business development at a particularly important time for the California almond industry.
This year’s convention took place in a context of significant challenges for the industry, where reducing operating costs, improving yields and efficiency, ensuring consistent product quality, and developing high value-added processed almond products are becoming increasingly important for growers and processors.
The convention also addressed the immense opportunities that almonds offer in the field of healthy nutrition. This is a key area for the future of the industry, with the potential to open new markets, strengthen existing ones, and further position almonds as a versatile, nutritious, and high-value ingredient for consumers and food manufacturers worldwide.

During the convention, Borrell USA presented its latest solutions for almond processing, covering the full process from hulling and shelling to post-processing and value-added applications. This year, special attention was given to our new developments in hulling and shelling, our next-generation proprietary optical sorting technology, and the performance improvements incorporated into our solutions for sliced, slivered, diced, almond flour, almond paste, and other processed almond products.
One of the highlights of Borrell USA’s presence at the convention was the presentation of our new Borrell Smart Sorter® Vision platform, developed with proprietary technology and designed specifically for the needs of the nut processing industry. This new generation of optical sorters is part of Borrell’s broader commitment to innovation and local manufacturing, with plans to also manufacture these machines in California.
Borrell USA also highlighted its most advanced solutions for almond hulling, shelling, cracking, blanching, drying, slicing, slivering, dicing, milling, paste production, automation, and modular processing lines. These technologies are designed to help processors increase efficiency, improve product quality, obtain higher yields, reduce downtime, and create new opportunities in high value-added almond products.
